1987 - 2000
  • Karo Bio was founded in 1987 and focused on nuclear receptor drug discovery. Karo Bio entered into several screening collaborations with international pharmaceutical companies.

  • In the middle of the 90's Karo Bio and its scientific collaborators made several break-through discoveries in the field of nuclear receptors.

  • In the fall of 1997, Karo Bio entered its first strategic drug discovery collaborations with Merck & Co., Inc. and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

  • In the spring of 1998 Karo Bio went public on the Stockholm Stock Exchange.

  • Another strategic collaboration with Abbott Laboratories was initiated in 2000 and was followed by the collaboration with Wyeth Pharmaceuticals in 2001.
