The Karo Bio Research Foundation supports academic research within the field of Karo Bio’s research activities. The first two grants were awarded late 2007 and recently two additional applications have been granted research funding.

At Karo Bio AB’s annual general meeting on Friday April 25, 2008 the following was resolved.

Karo Bio’s compound, KB3305, for treatment of type 2 diabetes, shows robust and predictable pharmacokinetics and the subjects are well exposed without serious adverse events in the first phase I clinical study.

Karo Bio initiates the second clinical phase IIb dose ranging study with eprotirome. This study will be conducted in dyslipidemia patients receiving concomitant treatment with the cholesterol absorption inhibitor ezetimibe. The first phase IIb study in 180 patients where eprotirome is given in addition to statin treatment is progressing according to plan.
